McKenna Halverson

Postdoctoral Researcher

McKenna Halverson is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Center for Research in Education and Social Policy (CRESP) at the University of Delaware. She earned her Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Sciences from the University of Delaware and her M.S. in Experimental Psychology from Villanova University. She also holds a graduate certificate in Interdisciplinary Evaluation Science.

Dr. Halverson is a community-engaged, mixed-methods researcher and evaluator with expertise in health equity, food access, stigma, and maternal and child health. She supports projects related to healthy food access, entrepreneurship, and teacher preparation under the guidance of Dr. Allison Karpyn and Dr. Leigh McLean.

Her experience includes managing complex, multi-site research studies, program evaluations, and community-based interventions. She is skilled in participant recruitment, survey design, qualitative interviewing, and data analysis, and is adept at building and maintaining relationships with community organizations and interdisciplinary teams. Dr. Halverson is committed to translating research findings into actionable insights for policymakers, practitioners, and community members.
